Elevenses Club
Help reduce social isolation in your street
23 May 2024
We ahve received a grant of £500 from the from the Charity Service to help with social isolation, so if anyone wants to start up an "Elevenses" club or something equivalent then SNWA can cover the cost.
This is to reduce social isolation in your street, One of our coordinators, with the help of a neighbour, has been doing a monthly “Elevenses” for their Road and a few others in the next road for the bereaved and /or elderly left living alone. The ladies all dress up and they all enjoy it. A lot of them know each other from years back but never feel to trouble anyone. The ladies all have a natter and we bake little treats they can enjoy, esp things from the old days.
I'm hoping that more of these can be set up now that we have a small amount of fundigng so that you don't need to fund it out of your own pocket.
We have a set of crockery if you don't have enough of your own and I'm sure we can give whatever advice you need to set up a regular club.
