Weekly Crime Update for Marple/Marple Bridge/High Lane 12th - 18th December 2022
Below is the weekly Key Crime round-up for the period 12th - 18th December 2022 for the Hazel Grove and Marple Beats.
Crimes recorded against each of our foot beats under the categories of Residential Burglary, Business and Community Burglary, Robbery and Vehicle Offences, for the previous week (Monday-Sunday)…
2 Residential Burglaries, 1 Business and Community Burglary, 3 Vehicle Offences and 0 Robbery.
The Business Burglary was reported as a “Thieves on” at The Hare and Hounds Inn, Dooley Lane.
One of our Neighbourhood Officers attended along with response units, and they were faced with a barricaded cellar door, which would not open with pushing/kicking so our Officer used a wham ram and entered with a taser and located and arrested one offender hiding in an alcove under a blanket and other patrol located a second offender lay on the floor in the main part of the cellar.
Various items such as a head torch, loppers/ wire cutters/ gloves were seized as exhibits and photos were taken of the copper piping which had been put into bundles and was ready to be removed and taken out of the external cellar door.
Both have been charged with Burglary, and bailed to Stockport Magistrates on 27th February, with conditions not to enter Marple.

4 Residential Burglary, 0 Business and Community Burglary, 8 Vehicle Offences and 2 Robbery
1 Residential Burglary was to a Garage and one an attempt with no entry gained.
A motorcycle stolen during this burglary has been recovered from an address in Manchester, and a male was arrested. Enquiries are ongoing.

3 Residential Burglaries, 0 Business and Community Burglary, 3 Vehicle Offences and 2 Robbery.
1 Residential Burglary was an attempt, with no entry gained.
A vehicle stolen during another of the Residential Burglaries was pursued at high speed, the driver was arrested, and charged with Handling Stolen goods, and multiple driving offences. He was remanded in Police Custody to appear at Magistrates court on 14th December and will reappear at Crown Court on 18th January 2023.
