Date: 08 Sep 2026

Areas Covered: Heaton Mersey, Heaton Norris, Heaton Moor, Heaton Chapel, North Reddish, South Reddish.

Click here for a 6 month powerpoint report shown at the last Reddish PACT meeting (pdf format). Sorry this is not a restart of regular weekly crime statistics, and I don't currently have anything to report for the Heatons.

Here are my notes from the meeting:-

Off road motorbikes & e-bikes
The police have ha funding for drones to catch these. There have been many successes and often they catch other crimes at the same time - stolen bikes, drug dealing etc.
The funding for this is about to end, they will have to apply for more but prob won't get it. If you think it should continue please report all sightings of illegal bikes as this will help with justification.
The same applies to other crimes, please report them, it might not get an immediate response but don't assume it was a waste of time as if there are several reports long term there will be action.

Illegal vapes & selling vapes to underage.
The police can do something about this if the premises is licensed (to sell alcohol) if not it is up to Trading Standards Office to deal with it.

Parking outside schools
There is still a problem with this at schools where for practical reasons it is not possible to shut the street off as a school street.

Instant BBQ's in Reddish Vale during heatwaves.
Unfortunately this isn't illegal, even though it is a fire risk, so the police can't do anything other than persuade, but the fire brigade can do more. However there were a couple of councillors at the meeting and they will try to get a bylaw created before next summer.
